I'm Jon (KB0RB)
Based in Vacaville, California, continuing a family tradition of ham radio across generations — and writing software for it along the way.

Find me on the airwaves
I'm always looking to chat with new folks and learn new things — if you see me, say hi!
I come from a long line of hams going back generations and am proud to carry on the family tradition, combining technology and communication with the fun of meeting new people. I'm a member of the ARRL as well as the Vaca Valley Radio Club (VVRC) and Sac Valley Mesh, and got my FCC Amateur Extra in 2025.
The hobby is also where most of my software ends up. I build iOS apps for the things I wanted on my own bench — running FT8 from a phone in the field, and keeping an AllStarLink node under control from wherever I happen to be.
I'm always looking to chat with new folks and learn new things, so if you see me, say hi! I send eQSLs and haven't gotten physical ones made yet — but I hope to soon.
Projects
Software I write and support, mostly for the radio bench.
Greyline FT8
FT8 and FT4 digital modes for iPhone and iPad
A full-featured digital mode app that runs FT8 and FT4 straight from an iPhone or iPad — live waterfall, automated QSO modes, POTA activations, spot maps and logging, with no laptop in the field.
We Have Wine at Home!
A visual cellar for the wine, beer and spirits you already own
An iPhone and iPad app for cataloguing your collection — a colour-coded grid of shelves and slots, label photos, CSV import and export, and a swipe to mark a bottle consumed. No accounts, no ads, no subscriptions.
AllStar Node Control
Run your AllStarLink node from your pocket
An iOS app for operating AllStarLink nodes — connect and disconnect links, watch node status, and keep your favourite nodes a tap away. Everything stays on your device.
Coming soon to the App Store
